This "high brow/brilliant" black-tie event has an entire program including featured performance by the Low Stars w/special guests Counting Crows members David Immergluck and Charlie Gillingham. The performance will be an intimate experience with four guitars and a piano and an amazing set-list of originals reminiscent of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, as well as covers from Bob Dylan, Beatles and more.

Low Stars have been selected to write and produce an exclusive song for the Friend campaign in 2009.  The song will be available for purchase at all major online retailers.  Royalties from sales of the song will be donated to CrisisLink.  The Friend campaign is a high profile campaign to raise awareness and support for CrisisLink will use virtual and live music performances, video, media, social networking, collaborative partnerships, merchandise, music, and celebrity engagement to encourage people to be a friend to someone in need.

Dick Morgan Jazz

Hailed by Washingtonian Magazine as the capital’s signature jazz pianist, the incomparable Dick Morgan has been a prominent figure on the national jazz scene  for more than a half century. He has been known to bring audiences to reverent silence with ballads like “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” then excite them minutes later with swinging song renditions reminiscent of Erroll Garner and Oscar Peterson. Just in the last month alone he has performed at both the Kennedy Center and Blues Alley. Mr. Morgan has made dozens of recordings with such artists as Julian “Cannonball” Adderly, Etta Jones, Joe Williams, Herb Ellis, and Charlie Byrd.
